A couple elements of citizenship include being knowledgeable about the country and improving the environment. Many immigrants have educated themselves about the United States, in hopes of becoming a citizen, making themselves knowledgeable about the history of the country. Corresponding to the same Xavier University study mentioned above, immigrants have a 97.5% pass rate when taken the citizenship test. (Americans Failing Citizenship Test Again) Therefore, immigrants exceed Americans when comparing the pass rates between the two. Numerous immigrants have proven themselves to be educated about the United States through the results of the tests. Some immigrants I have personally known have shown more concern and care for the environment than some native citizens.
